I AM Academy fosters an academic culture that exemplifies direction, drive, and discipline. The goal is to develop college-bound students with a heart of a servant who flourish throughout the world. We are dedicated to the belief that every person has the innate ability to learn and deserves the opportunity to develop the power of their brain, the power of their heart, the power of their hands, and the power of their will. Children learn best when the school recognizes:
With a strong educational base, all low-income neighborhoods have the ability to solve their own problems and create their own solutions. I AM Academy will be the cornerstone of a community redevelopment process that will be replicable and will reach through generations. We will do this by creating an academic culture that exemplifies character, inspiration, and discipline to develop college-bound and career-ready students with servants’ hearts.

The Board, administrators, faculty, and staff are the first to model for The D Group’s definition of servant leadership. The model originates from the book, “The Servant,” by James C. Hunter, which operates from the premise that Servant Leadership is the “act of inspiring people to work enthusiastically toward goals identified as for the common good,” extending to others resulting from a developed inner discipline. At IAM Academy, leadership instruction is delivered through the Leadership Values Profile and the Living Disciplined Program, both of which are incorporated into all curricula and at all grade levels.
